RPL fails when a committee awards credit for a job title, or when a rural applicant cannot upload a portfolio because the portal assumes fibre. This PGCert starts with those failures. You will write criteria, design a bilingual evidence map, and run a mock assessment that would survive an external examiner—without claiming that this university licences nurses, teachers, or engineers. African Future University treats RPL as academic integrity under African connectivity constraints. Digital portfolios are paper-plus-scan hybrids. Informal apprenticeships and public-service experience are first-class evidence types when documented, not when romanticised. The award is a graduate certificate. It is not a professional practising certificate and not an admissions-office appointment at another institution. It is for practitioners who must keep prior-learning decisions honest when the only evidence is a stained logbook. You will compare a workplace portfolio with an informal apprenticeship log, including rural applicants who cannot upload to a fibre-only portal. Identity-checked mock assessments sit in the capstone. The certificate does not licence nursing, teaching, or engineering. Study is tuition-free online aside from the examination fee, over nine months of assessed practice. PGCert Recognition of Prior Learning Practice is taught as one award, not a list of unrelated modules. The published length is 9 months, and the credit total is 15. Students move from RPL Policy without Credit Inflation through RPL Policy without Credit Inflation; Identity-Checked Assessment; Informal Apprenticeship Evidence; EN/FR RPL Administration; Procedure Manual Extract, and finish on Procedure Manual Extract. Each course has a question, a method, and a submission. In this field, students apply the method of the subject to a defined problem and defend the result. Reading is a core text, a case or dataset, and a critique. The artefact a marker expects is a submission that shows the method, the evidence, and the limit of the claim. The award is built so that a graduate can do the following in practice: Write RPL criteria that can be audited Map informal and formal evidence without inflation Run a bilingual, low-bandwidth RPL process Teaching assumes the student can read a source, attempt a problem before the seminar, and revise after feedback. Attendance at live seminars is part of the design. The capstone or final course must use the methods of the earlier courses; a project that ignores them does not pass. The pages for each course name the topics that are examined. Those topics are the syllabus. A brochure line is not a substitute for them.
