Regional integration fails in the national file that never opens: a decision cited in a speech, absent from the budget. This MA starts with that gap. You will trace a decision, map a REC–state interface, and write a brief a ministry can use—without this university claiming you work for the African Union. African Future University treats AU and REC institutions as texts and procedures, not as employers. AfCFTA is studied as one integration file among others, with the same honest boundary: no Secretariat job. Digital diplomacy is taught as poorly connected video calls and PDFs, not as a campus in Addis. The award is academic. It is not AU employment, not a diplomatic passport, and not a UN secondment. It is for people who must keep a regional-policy brief honest when the only implementation is a workshop. You will compare a well-cited AU decision with a national budget line that never opened, including rural non-arrival. Identity-checked exams use public instruments. Marketing of the award must not display the AU emblem as a partner mark. Study is tuition-free online aside from the examination fee. MA African Union Policy and Regional Integration is taught as one award, not a list of unrelated modules. The published length is 18 months, and the credit total is 36. Students move from AU and REC Decision Procedures for Outsiders through AU and REC Decision Procedures for Outsiders; Legal Instruments versus Communiqués; Budget Lines and the Workshop Economy; Gazettes, Ministries, and Non-Arrival; Devolution and Rural Implementation Gaps; Civil Society as Watchdog, Not Subcontractor, and finish on Writing Ministry Briefs. Each course has a question, a method, and a submission. In this field, students say who decides, under which rule, and draft a note a professional could read. Reading is a statute or instrument, a case or policy paper, and a commentary. The artefact a marker expects is a memo or draft clause with sources and a revision note. The award is built so that a graduate can do the following in practice: Trace an AU/REC decision into a national file or its absence Write a bilingual policy brief that cites texts, not slogans Map implementation gaps including rural non-arrival Teaching assumes the student can read a source, attempt a problem before the seminar, and revise after feedback. Attendance at live seminars is part of the design. The capstone or final course must use the methods of the earlier courses; a project that ignores them does not pass. This course is academic. It does not admit the student to practise law and it is not a qualifying law degree. The pages for each course name the topics that are examined. Those topics are the syllabus. A brochure line is not a substitute for them.
Thirty-six credits: institutional texts, national implementation, economic integration files, and a public-document capstone. Identity-checked exams. No AU emblem is used as affiliation.

Modules are assessed through a published mix of coursework, applied projects, and examinations. Exam windows are announced in advance so students in other time zones are not forced into overnight sittings. Alternative arrangements are available where documented.
The published duration is 18 months. Teaching language: English + French assessment options. Actual time-to-complete depends on mode and any recognised prior learning.
