LoadingWrite and teach across African languages and EN/FR academic registers.
Online only

Academic communication in African universities fails when a French abstract is a poor calque of English theory, or when a local-language radio script is treated as unscholarly. This MA starts with that hierarchy. You will edit, translate with documented method, and write for mixed audiences without pretending this university employs AU cultural agencies. African Future University requires honesty about competence: you work in languages you can evidence. Digital publishing is taught as PDFs, radio, and messaging apps that survive poor connectivity—the actual channels of tuition-free online study and public scholarship. The award is academic. It is not a civil-service language post, not a simultaneous-interpreting licence, and not an ethnographic field permit. It is for people who must keep multilingual academic text honest when the only printer is in town. You will compare a campus notice genre with a radio script and a scholarly abstract in the same language pair. Identity-checked exams test documented method, not a decorative list of tongues the candidate cannot actually use. Tuition-free online study is the delivery mode; print and radio remain first-class scholarly channels here.
Thirty-six credits: registers and terminology, translation ethics, digital-rural genres, and a language-pair capstone. Identity-checked exams. Competence is evidenced per language, not assumed continent-wide.

Modules are assessed through a published mix of coursework, applied projects, and examinations. Exam windows are announced in advance so students in other time zones are not forced into overnight sittings. Alternative arrangements are available where documented.
The published duration is 18 months. Teaching language: English + French assessment options. Actual time-to-complete depends on mode and any recognised prior learning.
This is a fully online award. You study from your country. No student visa and no campus relocation are required.
Degree tuition for this award is published as £0 / tuition-free on the online pathway. Examination or administrative fees may apply at checkout — never an annual tuition invoice. Check the Fees page for any extras.
Requirements are grouped on this page (academic, English, documents). Equivalent qualifications are considered. English may be waived after prior English-medium study.
Assessment is typically a mix of coursework, projects, and examinations. Doctoral awards include a thesis or dissertation and an oral examination. Details sit in the programme specification and module outlines.
Recognition of the award for local employment, professional licence, or ministry attestation is decided by your employer or regulator. African Future University publishes verification pages for certificates. We do not claim automatic equivalence in every country.
