Stellenbosch and AFU Establish Dual BSc in International Agribusiness to Secure African Food Supply Chains

Agriculture remains the primary employer across the African continent, yet millions of smallholders remain disconnected from high-value regional processing and export markets. African Future University and the Stellenbosch Agri-Sciences Network have partnered to offer the dual BSc in International Agribusiness & Food Security.

The curriculum teaches students precision agriculture telemetry, cold-chain logistics, commodity hedging, and agro-processing enterprise management under the AfCFTA framework.

"Africa possesses over 60 percent of the world's uncultivated arable land," noted the Program Director of Agri-Sciences. "Our dual degree transforms passionate students into commercial agribusiness managers capable of turning African agriculture into a dynamic, export-oriented industrial powerhouse."

Graduates receive two recognized Bachelor of Science diplomas and are equipped to manage agricultural enterprises, farmer cooperatives, and agro-export agencies.
