University of Cape Town and AFU Partner on Pan-African Digital Health and Outbreak Surveillance Master's

In response to the urgent requirement for unified continental health intelligence, African Future University and the University of Cape Town (UCT) Academic Alliance have inaugurated their dual Master of Public Health & Digital Epidemiology.

The curriculum focuses on tele-surveillance, community healthcare telemetry via USSD and mobile data pipelines, laboratory data interoperability, and predictive modeling for infectious diseases such as malaria, cholera, and viral hemorrhagic fevers.

"Public health leadership in Africa is undergoing a profound digital transformation," stated the Dean of Health Sciences. "Clinical practitioners no longer simply compile historical health records; they analyze live data streams from remote clinics across thousands of kilometers. This dual MPH with UCT confers the exact analytical rigor needed to protect continental health security."

Students develop operational disease surveillance plans and defend their capstone research before joint public health panels, receiving two officially accredited master's credentials upon completion.
