UCT and AFU Launch Dual BA in Sustainable Development & Public Governance for Community Transformation

Building vibrant, accountable local communities across Africa requires leaders versed in policy evaluation, decentralization, and sustainable urban planning. African Future University and the University of Cape Town have unveiled their dual Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Sustainable Development & Public Governance.

This 3-year online undergraduate track covers social policy formulation, municipal finance, environmental resource governance, and citizen participation metrics.

"Grassroots development succeeds when community administrators possess the analytical tools to evaluate public spending and engage citizens transparently," explained the Dean of Social Sciences. "Our joint BA with UCT provides an accessible, debt-free academic pathway for community advocates across all 55 African nations."

Graduates obtain two official Bachelor of Arts degrees, qualifying them for advisory roles in local government, international development agencies, and civil society organizations.
