Wits and AFU Unveil Dual BA in Digital Media & Strategic Communication for African Storytellers

The transformation of African media requires creative storytellers equipped with data journalism skills, investigative verification techniques, and multimedia production capabilities. African Future University and the University of the Witwatersrand have launched the dual BA in Digital Media & Strategic Communication.

Students study investigative data reporting, digital public relations, podcast and video production, media ethics, and audience analytics across Anglophone and Francophone digital markets.

"African stories must be researched, verified, and told by African journalists with uncompromised integrity and world-class technical skill," stated the Head of Media Studies. "Our dual BA with Wits empowers young creatives to build independent digital newsrooms and lead strategic communications for global organizations."

Graduates finish the program with two Bachelor of Arts credentials and a comprehensive multimedia journalism portfolio published during their studies.
