Bilingual English-French Degrees: AFU and UCAD Bridge Regional Language Divides Across CEMAC, ECOWAS, and SADC

Language barriers have historically fragmented African professional mobility, leaving Francophone and Anglophone commercial and public institutions operating in isolated silos. African Future University and Université Cheikh Anta Diop (UCAD) have addressed this challenge by delivering fully bilingual dual-degree programs in Software Engineering, Digital Governance, Public Management, and African Commercial Law.

Every student enrolled in these pathways receives coursework, case studies, and assessment rubrics in both French and English. Transcripts and diplomas reflect dual-language competency, unlocking career opportunities across ECOWAS, CEMAC, SADC, and North African markets.

"A digital leader or legal counsel in Africa must be equally proficient drafting an OHADA contract in French and reviewing a common law financing structure in English," explained Professor Babacar Diop of the UCAD Academic Directorate. "Our joint partnership with AFU creates truly bilingual leaders equipped for continental integration."

Oral dissertations and defense committees are conducted before joint panels featuring faculty from both Dakar and AFU's digital research faculty, setting a new benchmark for cross-regional educational cooperation.
